For protein I used Sabila Aloe Vera (a dominican conditioner) to which I added some Black Cumin Oil, Aphogee 2 min. reconstructor, and Keraphix (wanted to use this up). I'm not sure how long I left this on, but I know it was for at least 45 mins. with a plastic cap, no heat.
I rinsed it out and applied Miss Keys Olive Oil (not very moisturizing on its on and its been discontinued), ORS Replenish Pak, and Moisture Rich (this came with the Texture and Tones hair color; it was my first time using it). My hair came out soft and strong. I can't wait until my next deep conditioning. Peace. |

I washed/deep conditioned three heads of hair of the weekend. Mine, my granddaughter, and another little girl who's mom doesn't take care of her child's hair. I used a protein treatment on all of us and followed up with a moisturizing conditioner(s).
For the protein, I mixed Emergencia, Sole and Cinnamon, Salerm Wheatgerm Mask, Alter Ego Garlic, and a couple of squirts of Spanish Sur-Gro. Applied to our hair and left on anywhere from 10, 15 mins-a few hours. It left our hair soft and strong. I was pleased with this concoction. So far, so good. For the moisture, I used Nacidit Olive Oil and ORS Replenish Pak. I applied just the Nacidit to her and nothing else. For the other little girl, I mixed both. For mine, I used what was left of the ORS Pak, Nacidit, and Hemp Oil. I gently blowdried the other little girls hair b/c her mom was coming to pick her up, so I didn't have enough time to airdry plus it was a lil chilly outside and I didn't wanna send her out with her hair wet. I have yet to see how the lil girl's hair reacted to my treatments. My youngest daughter is gonna cornrow it. My granddaughter's hair looks and feels great. My hair looks as though I gave myself a touch up. Peace. |

Uh-Oh, I made a boo boo on the previous post. I didn't use the Nacidit Olive Oil conditioner I used what was left of the ORS Replenish Pak and Faviola Carrect Berbena and Romero Tratamiento conditioner. Its a dominican conditioner I bought last year and I'm just using it for the first time yesterday. I'll type some info about it tomorrow b/c I'm really tired right now. But I will say that its very moisturizing and I'll buy it again. Peace.

I forgot to post the directions for using this treatment:
After washing your hair with Faviola Carrect products, use this fine treatment for 10 mins. using a hot cap for better results. In case of not using the hot cap, leave it on for about 20 mins. and then rinse throughly. I left it on for alot longer than 20 mins. I believe I left it on for at least an hour. Peace. |

Some info about the Lafier Honey and Almonds conditioner:
Ingredients: Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Beeswax, Cholestrol, Cetrimonium Chloride, Lanolin, Fragrance, Sweet Almond Oil, Honey, Cetearyl Octanoate, Isopropyl Myristate, Glutaral, D&C Brown No. 1 (CI 20170). There's another ingredient, but I can't make it out b/c the label is torn, but its some kinda alcohol. Honey and Almond Treatment It is a treatment blend of nutrients and emollients that soften and restore your hair. How to use: shampoo and massage cream to scalp, leave on 20 mins., rinse and comb. I left it on for 3 hrs. w/plastic cap and my hair is very soft and silky. The majority of the label is in spanish. HTH. Peace. |

My bad, I'm talking about another product called Universal Una Bomba. Have you seen that? They used it on my hair last week and were talking about how good a conditioner it is. I did like it. It comes in a black container.

Dominican Hair Products

I tried a new one a couple of days ago. Its called Todo en Uno. It seems to be a moisturizing treatment to me b/c my hair was really soft after rinsing it out. And I was in need of a touch up at the time. Here's what it states on the label:
This is the only treatement elaborated with the most fine ingredients for the care of your hair. These, in combination with the best natural oil, the olive oil and a set of aromatics grass sole of shoes, aromatics spices and animal protein, to avoid the loss of the hair and increase the volume of it, giving the exuberance and brightness. Ways To Use: after washing your hair with shampoo, apply this treatment for a time of ten minutes with cap under dryer or blow dryer. In case of ot using the dryer, leave it in to act for 20 minutes in the hair. Rinse thoroughly. Ingredients: Purified Water, Cloruro Amonio de Cetiltrimetilo, Olive Oil, Cetil Alcohol, Glicerine, Animal Protein, Citric Acid, Aromatic Specs, Shoe Sole, Fruit Seed Concentrated, Aromatic Herbs, FD&C Yellow #5, FD&C Green #6, Propilene Glycol (and) 5-Nitro 1.3, Dioxane, Fragrance. When I deep conditioned with this, I left in on for over an hour, but I'm not sure of the exact time. I would order this again. Peace. |

Re: Dominican Hair Products

Hello,
I am new to this forum and have spent countless hours reading everyone's posts. I love the wealth of info. I've found here. I recently had to cut my hair to ear length b/c of damage. I am trying to grow it back. I have spent alot of money over the past month or so on hair "stuff". I guess you could call me a PJ already. It's fun though to mix and use different things together to see what gets you the best outcome. My ? is how to use the Surge 14? I want to use it everyday, but then I'd have to spray on dry scalp as I do not poo everyday. Please advise. Maybe I could use as a leave-in? Thank you. |

Re: Dominican Hair Products

Hopefully I'm asking the right questions in the right areas. I forgot to mention that I've ordered and tried a few of the Dominican hair care products. I have about 5 shipments on the way. As I continue to read this forum, I keep hearing about great products you all have tried. So far I've received the La Bomba and the Lacio Lacio leave-in. I loved them both. They worked well together. I have yet to mix anything together, but give me time. I'm waiting on the Emergencia, Lacio Lacio Intensive Treatment, 10 en 1, Salerm Wheat Germ Mask, Nacidit Olive oil Treatment, Silicon Mix poo and treatment...I think that's it. I have to build up my staples. I had not been caring for my hair correctly over the years. Hence the damage, breakage, dryness and dullness. It's actually looking and feeling alot better though. When you all speak of 'slip", what does that mean? It seem as though it's a good thing. Since my hair is pretty short, I have been having to hot curl it everyday. I've been giving it a rest on the weekend though. I've been shampooing on Tues. and Sat. So on Saturdays, sometimes I hot curl it after my regimine. Hopefully, after it gets a little longer I won't have to hot curl as much. I've also tried the Elasta QP mango Butter and I like it very much. I had a hard time finding it at a BSS, but I finally did. Thanks for all of everyone's help.

Re: Dominican Hair Products

Hi and welcome aboard. "Slip" means moisture, moisturize, or softeness. And yes it is a very good thing, especially after a protein deep conditioning treatment. Everything that you ordered I also have and I like 'em. If u have any ?'s, I'm sure the ladies and I will help as much as we can. Peace.

Surge 14 | ||
|
Thank you. How do you ladies use the Surge 14? I'm thinking that I want to use it sometime while my hair is wet. If it's dry when used, I'm thinking that my hair will frizz. The bottle says to spray directly on the scalp. Please advise and thanks again.

Re: HELP/QUESTIONS...LEARN TO USE DOMINICAN PRODUCTS HERE

Thanx to a lady on LHCF, I found a new way to use my beloved Crom Emergencia. I apply it to DRY hair and sit under the dryer for 10-20 mins. She kept hers in for 10 mins. I rinsed then washed w/Optimum Protection poo twice, then deep conditioned w/a mixture of EQP Intense, the Optimum Normalizer that comes w/ one of their relaxers, almond oil, eo's of juniper, myrrh, and rosemary. And my hair came out great. I still have a little body to it, it feels moisturized and strong. I'm gonna do this at least once a week. I may switch up shampoos, but I'm only gonna use the Emergencia for the first deep conditioning. Peace.
