We have decided to have a special post section just for Dominican products, so that we can share and learn together on how best to use them and print out what we learn about the product so we can have it on hand for future reference... Just include some info such as what product you have, how you use it, what it does, how it makes the hair feel.... I have jumped on the Dominican band wagon... I need help in how to use them: I have Bello K Bello by Miss Keys, is this a leave-in similar to Lacio Lacio and Salerm 21? I have Crema Negro Cream, this is a conditioner I think....contains a lot of protein. I have Lacio lacio... Everyone likes it for a roller set when used with heat... Well, somewhat. I use the Lacio Lacio as a leave-in. Works great w/heat and from what I hear, its also great for rollersets. Unfortunately, I haven't had the time for a rollerset since I don't know when. The Bello K Bello-I have this also. And I've only used it once or twice as a leave-in. Says it can be used on dry or wet hair. I figure out how to use it one of these days. I just got my Crema Negro Cream yesterday and haven't used it yet. I probably won't use it until next week on my Tuesday wash and condition. HTH

I'll be gettin' back to rollersetting and since this is such a popular hair product, I thought I'd better stock up. I'll also be ordering Salerm 21 pretty soon.

I read on another site that any of Miss Key black conditioner's tend to darken the hair... I think when I use it, I will mix it another light color conditioner just in case it does darken the hair..... I think since so many of us are jumping on the Dominican band wagon... We should have a special place where we can each list the product, how we use it, what it does for the hair and etc... That way we could print them out and have them for future use... How about here since we do need help on learning how to use these products and the dominican hair products thread. And I know I'll be mentioning from time to time on the 'thrice wash challenge'. I'll start with what products I used today. I dyed my hair w/Garnier 100% Color. Didn't shampoo b/c it doesn't say to on the box. But I deep conditioned twice w/ Kan Kanechomn She-Goat and Capilo Silk Worm. I think they are both somewhat proteinish, but my hair also felt moisturized. I don't know dominican protein products feel very moisturizing, but yet I follow up with what I think is moisturizing. My new growth is manageable, but not as silky soft as my ends. That's what I get for mixing those two conditioners. I guess the experimentation hasn't left me yet. But it will if I keep doing/mixing the wrong conditioners. Oh yeah and I have a post from way back on mixing dominican conditioners with certain oils like almond and olive. I'll post it when I find it. Hey Olcow if my hair doesn't feel softer tomorrow, I'm gonna condition wash/rinse w/ Sole and Cinnamon. Now that's some good stuff. Peace.

Fruity smell, cleaned hair good without feeling stripped... Ingrid.: fruit oil, laurl sodium sulphate , coperlan(?), citric acid. Rice, Silicone & Milk Protein= conditioner, Liked it and would buy it again, I mixed mine with Aphogee fatty oils and Capilo Milk N Honey rinse.. Thick, nice clean smell, hair felt strong after use, conditioned hair for 20 minutes and followed up with deep moisturizing conditoner... Ingred: deionized water, quatermanium amino, cetyl alcohol, mineral oil, lactic acid, Vit e, silicone, milk protein listed last before a couple others... Sedal Ceramidas:= leave-in conditioner for shine(in pink bottle), smells very good , I mixed mine with Lacio Lacio and Salerm 21, with some Aphogee fatty oils... I am 6 weeks post, so I need a strong watery leave-in first to make hair comb-able. After I used one, hair combed out fairly easy... will try this again to learn proper use of it... Of course I followed up with my moisturizers and oils... This needs a heavy moisturizer used on top of it....IMO Ingred: Aqua, cetyl alcohol, cetrimonium chloride(hair softener), mineral oil, glycerin are the first Ingred.. followed by a few others and citric acid... Capilo Milk n Honey Rinse: = Very nice smell, I mixed it with the thick Rice/Silicone Trearment... I have not used it alone... I will probably use it as a CW one day, since it does not contain protein... Ingred: water, cetrimonium chloride, cetyl alcohol, cetric acid, Vaseline ,and honey Nacidit Coconut Oil Hair Mask= Nice sweet coconut smell, thick spoon-able texture, I used this mixed with Henna Queenn Garlic Rinse... I added some oil to it and used this as a CW for four hours... Hair was very soft... I like it but, the ingredients turn me off... Ingred: Water, cethly alcohol, lanolin, BHT , BHA , menthyl-propyl paraben and coconut is list last l Henna Queenn Garlic Rinse= Very strong Garlic smell, Rinses out well, and smell did not linger in the hair...I use this as a CW, it has a pour-able consistance... I am a mixer so I mix it with a thicker conditioner... Hair was soft afterwards... I like and may try it again... Ingred: water, citric acid, amonium quatermarirm, cetyl alcohol, paraben0 , Garlic oil is listed as last Mis Key Bello K Bello= Don't know how to use this, but I think it can be used like Lacio Lacio and Salerm 21... I used it on dry hair and my hair remained strait and silky soft... I will use it as a leave-in and a cream hair dress... I like it Ingred: aqua, pantenol, ultrasilk, cetyl estearlico, and some cones paraben listed last Star Lacio Lacio= Protein leave in conditioner for hair shine... Will report when I use it... Ingred: Water cetearyl alcohol, Mink Oil, Hydrolyzed silk, Dimethicone capoliol, Cetrimonium chloride, Panthenol, hydrant, paraben Henna Queen Whale Sperm Rinse= I like this, smells very good , I am a mixer, used it as a CW with Sole & Cinnamon Conditioner, Left my hair very nice, silky. I like these products but the Parabens are a turn off , but not in all of them... Ingred: Water, Cetric acid, ammonium, cetyl alcohol, methil paraben , whale sperm listed as last Capilo Sole & Cinnamon,=Smells just like Dentin gum or Big Red gum , I like it... hair was very silky and soft after a 3 hour deep condition... Ingred: Water, cetyl alcohol, Sole extract, petrolatum, cetrimonium chloride, propylene, mineral oil, paraben, Cinnamon Oil Miss Key Crema Negra= conditioner that is black in color and contains protein... It smells so good.. I used it as a protein treatment and followed up with a deep moisturizing treatment... I like it and will most likely buy again... Ingred: Water, alcohol cetilico, glicerin, propylene glycol, alcohol estearlico, disteraylamidoethyl monium,methosulfte, behentrimonium methosulfte, polysorbate 60, hydrolyzed wheat protein, wheat germ oi,l dimethicone, fourth to last ingredient, papaben. Charlot 7 Wonders Rinse= It is supposed to hydrate the hair...Smells very good... I mixed it with my other protein conditioners or use it mixed with my regular conditioners, when my hair needs a little protein... I like it and may buy again... Ingred: Silk protein, d pantenol, Distiled water, Lauril sodium sulfate and sun filter.... Nacidit Avocado Rinse= It is supposed to be used for dry to normal hair, to smooth and protect... report to come soon, have not used it yet... Ingred: Purified water, Cethly alcohol, Cethly Trymethyl ammonium chloride, Mineral oil, Lanolin, Propyl paraben, Methyl paraben, BHT, BHA , Avocado oil... Don't like the ingredients in this one... Silicon Mix Leave-in conditioner= Will post when I use it.. Ingred: Water, Cetyl alcohol, Stearly alcohol, Cycomethicone, Dimethicone copolyol, Keratin, Ceramide, Silk Protein, Glycerin, Cetrimonium chloride, Citric acid, Diazoloidiny urea, Iodopropyl butylcarbarmate Jan-July 2005 2 Month Protective Style Challenge 2005 Summer Hair Challenge

WOW.....impressive. It's amazing when you can see progresss like that. I'm gonna be sorry that I didn't track mine. In the past, Dat was on me to start one and I should have. It's never too late, but I just know I won't do it mainly because it's going to take me a minute to get up to speed on how to take decent pics and I am short on time. I tried to start 3 weeks ago when I started my M-T-G for this cycle and that was a disaster. But, you keep up the good work!

If you have a busy schedule (and who doesn't these days).. It's hard to take pictures and make sure they come out right... I had a hard time at first... My hubby was always saying " What is taking so long with that head of yours , I have never seen anyone spend half the day on one head." But now it goes a lot faster... I needed to take photos and write down everything I used so I could get a regimen going, so that I could back track and see what products worked and what did not... As you can see in my album, it was up and down for a good while after I did the BC... and it was discouraging at times experiencing the setbacks... It's a full time job at first learning about your hair... but it does get easier as time goes by... I won't give up on having healthy and keeping it healthy... Most important of all, I have to thank you and all the other ladies, from the bottom of my heart, from my head, to my toes.. THANK YOU... THANK YOU... THANK YOU I was lost on how to use products correctly for my hair... I bought the best products... but not knowing how to use them made no difference, because I still had breakage from lack of moisture... Sorry for the long post.... Just giving everyone their props... Its called Kan Kanechomn Jaborandi Deep Conditioning Cream for damaged and fragile hair. On the jar it says: Growth and Protection. Here's the info printed on the label: The Kan Kanechomn Tonic Strengthening Hair Cream with Jaborandi made of a rich vegetal extract smoothes and protects the skin tissues, preventing the hair fall and favoring the hair growth besides giving the hair threads a natural shine. Instructions For Use: Upon washing your hair, apply the hair cream with a smooth message during 2 mins. then rinse the hair taking the excess off. In case of a bath cream, cover your hair with a tepid towel for 30 mins. Using a thermal cap let the cream act for 15 mins. Composition: Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetrimonium Chloride, Deionized Water, Fragrance, Propylene Glycol, Ceteareth-20, Guarhydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Coco-Betaine, Amodimethicone, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Macrogol, Pilocarpus-pennatifolius, Lamextract, Glycerine, CI 19140, CI 16255. I have no idea what the CI or the numbers mean. Anyway I used it as a deep conditioner for 30 mins. under the hooded dryer. My hair felt like sh* after I rinsed it out, but when I hot curled it my hair was silky soft. I truly believe these products work best with heat. HTH. Peace.

It's best to use a regular American conditioner rinse then a dominican conditioner for your deep conditioning. Also I read a post from BHM and the lady said that its all about conditioning with the Dominicans. She said that they washed her hair, conditioned it with a regular conditioner, then the dominican conditioner, combed thru her hair w/a wide tooth comb, rinsed it out, put in a leave-in and wet set her hair. Hope that made sense. Most of these conditioners instruct you to massage your scalp while applying the conditioner. This is a great way to incorporate scalp massages into my regimine since I slacked off doing them. HTH
