Well my hair turned out pretty decent. I haven't curled it or anything yet b/c it was still a lil damp in the middle. Most likely I'll add some
mo' leave-ins and hot curl it. Peace.

Hi Everyone! I'm a newbie to this forum but wanted to get your opinion on something. When I lived in ATL, I frequented a Dominican Hair Salon every two
weeks and was very pleased with the results. Now that I've moved to AL, there are no Dominican Salons anywhere in sight

Hey Too Many
Thank you for responding. I went ahead and ordered the Capilo Sole and Cinnamon and their Advocado Combo Packs. I also ordered Star Lacio Lacio as well. I read everyone of your posts and I think I'm still gonna order the Crom Emergencia and the Salerm 21 Wheatgerm Mask and Leave-in conditioner to start with. Hmmm Thanks and have a fabulous day |

You can use them once a week if you want. The Crom Emergencia can be used even if you don't have damaged hair. That's what I'll be using today. And
you don't have to use heat if you don't want to. But I'll sit under my hooded dryer for 30 mins. I'm gonna add some oil to it, like sesame or
wheatgerm, and some essential oils. Alot of the reviews I posted on this thread were based on hair challenges I participated in. I think we were
washing/conditioning our hair 3 days a week, and I was almost always using dominican products.
As far as the dominican shampoos, I read on LongHairCareForum that they'll tend to dry out the hair. So lookout for that. Here's a few other dominican products I forgot to mention: Kuz shampoo--I like this one. It seems to detangle my hair a bit. Not much but enough. Kuz Hair Mask--I think that's what its called. I'm not sure, I can't find the container. Both of these are for porous hair. Both are also labeled as Intensive Treatments. I think I'll use the shampoo today now that I'm typing this. I also mix different dominican hair conditioners with american products, they seem to work better. However, I have mixed 2 or 3 of the Kan Kanechomn hair masks together with decent results. I'm thinking of starting a couple of new threads: 1.) I'm gonna list some brand name products and their strengths (i.e. whether they are proteinish or moisturizing. 2.) Hair products that I have mixed together and whether or not I liked/loved the results. It may take some time b/c I've got most of 'em written down in different notebooks. You can use the products whenever you wash/condition your hair. Whether it once, twice a week. Just be sure you use what you need. Right now I believe I need some protein and that's why I'm using Crom Emergencia b/c its considered a reconstructor. HTH Peace. |

Just a quick reminder: Whenever using anything proteinish, always follow up with a moisturizing conditioner.

Hey Too Many
Also, can I use Lacio Lacio for Roller sets or Blow Drying then flat ironing? I really like your idea for the new thread. I would love to know some of the "recipes" you come up with that you feel are worth trying. By the way, I tried something called Moroccon Miracle Oil for daily shine and moisture and I actually like it. |

Hi Dandio,
I haven't used any of the dominican rinses in a loooooong time. For me, they only work on a fresh relaxer and before I need a touch up. If I need a touch up nothing works on my hair. I'll use 'em when I remember I have them or I have the time. I have an avocado rinse that detangles very well. I'm trying to make a homemade leave-in conditioner out of it, but its not coming out right. BTW, acv rinses work just as good, if not better. From the list of items you mentioned above, it doesn't look as though you bought anything moisturizing. They all look like protein conditioners to me. Here's are the moisturizing conditioners I use the most: Silicon Mix Kan Kanechomn Ceramidas Kan Kanechomn Karite Butter Kan Kanechomn Crystal Bath Capilo Milk and Honey I haven't used/bought Nexxus Humectruss in a very long time, but I do remember getting decent results. Yes, Lacio Lacio is great for roller sets. Lots of ladies rave about how pretty their rollersets come out using this product. I've also used in I blow dry and hot curl. Its a great product. I have to order some more myself. Plus I see where it comes in a bigger container. Thank goodness. There are some homemade recipes in the Essential Oil thread that I posted. Hope you find something interesting. I read about the Moroccon Miracle Oil just the other day. I'm glad you like it and I hope it continues to work for you. Peace. |

Hey Too Many!! How's life? Great I hope. Just wanted to let you know that I used Boe Crece Pelo (poo, cond, rinse) and the Lacio Lacio Leave-in. My hair came out sooooo silky and beautiful!!! It smelled good, it had lots of body and it wasn't dry!! I did put a few drops of Moroccon Miracle Oil on it later in the week, but it's still holding up really well. This weekend, I'm gonna try the Capilo Sole and Cinnamon so wish me well. Thanks again for all the advice!!! Have a great weekend!!! |

Hello Im KB, Im new to this forum and would like any and all the advice I can get when it comes to my hair.
I don't know where to begin, My hair is shedding really bad right now, probably due to the color I've had since July 08, Its a blondish color w/ highlights. I wash my hair faithfully every week, I use the aphoghee line, but it doesn't seem to keep my hair from shedding no matter what I do. I also started using some dominican products, aprethadora, wheat germ conditioner, but I continue to get the same results alot of shedding. I do blow dry my hair and will bevel it, but only once a week. I may be leaving some info out but please ask and I'll respond bc I need to get my hair snapped back in place....lol Thanks in advance... |

Hey KB,
So sorry it took so long to get back to you. Let me start by saying that Too Many is the local expert on hair around here. I'm just a weekend warrior who loves hair products and keeping my hair looking great!! One last thing I think that made the diffrence...I started taking a hair vitamin that really seemed to strengthen my hair. I've been taking it for about a year now and have been very happy with the results. HTH! |

Hi KB,
Stop Hair Breakage and Shedding 1.) Give yourself condition washes every 2 days until your hair stops breaking and shedding. 2.) Massage your scalp every night. 3.) Wash hair regularly, at least twice a week. You may not need to wash your hair that much b/c your hair and/or scalp may become dry and irritated. Plus, you don't want to wash your hair too frequently in the winter months b/c that could also dry out hair and/or scalp. 4.) Do deep conditioning (even after condition washes) treatments with ORS Mayo (or regular mayo), Lekair Cholestrol, Motions CPR, Crom Emergencia, or any other deep conditioner best suited for your hair type.
Hi DANDIO2, Girl, you are giving me entirely too much credit. I'm sitting in front of this computer blushing as I post this. Please belive me when I tell you that I was in dire straits with my hair when I found this board. The ladies who were members at that time gave me more knowledge than anyone else, even hairdressers. |

Too Many,
Credit is given where credit is due!!! I heard about you and your vast knowledge on another site soooo, it's official, you're a cyber expert on haircare |

Oh, yeah. I forgot to mention that Motions has a breakage recipe where you don't wash your hair for 32 days. Every four days you condition wash your hair
w/ Motions CPR. The recipe may still be posted on their website, if not, just say the word and I'll post it for you. Peace

On 11/03/2008, I made up the 'Fried Hair Fix' recipe. Here's what I used: Trimmed my ends a bit. Washed hair w/ Kuz shampoo and added a lil baking soda. Left on hair for at least 5 mins also gently masseaged scalp and hair. Washed again w/ Dark and Lovely Color Care poo. Let it sit for 10-15 mins. b/c for some reason I become busy with something. Rinsed and applied the 'Fried Hair Fix' recipe. I used: 2 tbsps. ea: Kuz Intensive Mask, VO5 Champagne Kiss, Sole and Cinnamon, and Silicone leave-in. Sat under heating cap for an hour. Rinsed and applied homemade leave-in and blow dried hair. Hardly no hair in comb. Applied Profectiv MegaGrowth and Fantasia IC Hair Lotion and let that dry. Hot curled hair and it came out very decent. Liked this this treatment alot. |

Happy New Year Too Many!! I hope all is well with you and your family. You will NEVA believe what happened to me!! My beautician gave me that deep icky Aphogee
treatment and guess what?? She never gave me a mointurizing conditioner let alone any conditioner afterwards! Just rolled my hair up, sat me under the dryer
and voila...straw for hair!! I have never been so mad!! I kept wondering why I kept smelling that stinky stuff while I was out dancing. As soon as I would
sweat a little on my head, I'd smell it. Then the worst part...because it was a deep conditioner, my hair was brittle and dry and it just started breaking
and coming out, etc!! I finally got desperate and washed it with my Boe Crece Pelo Shampoo that is supposed to stop shedding, etc. But the thing that really
saved me was the conditioner I used. I combined the Boe Crece Pelo Conditioner, some Wheat Germ Oil and some Nexxus Humectruss and let it sit on my hair for
about 20 minutes. Talk about silky soft hair, it was great!! And it stopped the shedding instantly! Lesson to all...even if you have a wonderful and all
knowing beautician, still pay attention to what's happening to your hair. Even they forget sometimes!! TTFN!!
